Toddler Program Options
Toddler Class: For toddlers 1 to 2 years old
- Age: 18–30 months old by the start of school
- Toddlers should be stable on their feet before they join us.
- Under 2: Toddlers under age 2 by the start of school may attend 2–5 days a week.
- Age 2-3: Children 2 and older by the start of school may attend 3–5 days a week.
Bridging Class: For older toddlers & young preschoolers
- Age: at least 2 but not yet 4 years old by the start of school
- This "bridging" class serves as an optional bridge between Toddler House and our five-day Children's House preschool program.
- Under 3: Students not yet 3 by the start of school may attend 3–5 days a week.
- Age 3-4: Students age 3 or older by the start of school may attend 3 or 4 days a week. (For our 5-day-a-week option, refer to our Children's House preschool program.)
Schedules & Childcare for Toddlers
We offer many schedule variations in order to accommodate a child's individual needs and the complicated lives of today’s families.
Hours & Extended Child Day Care for Toddlers
Regular Hours: 8:30–11:30 a.m. (for both Toddler and Bridging classes)
Lunch Bunch: 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Extended Day Child Care: Available for both before-school and after-school daycare, on a regular or drop-in basis.
Extended Hours: Inly School is open 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, and is conveniently located on Rte 123, just off Rte 3A near the Scituate / Norwell town line.
Parents, toddlers and teachers at Inly: A strong working partnership
- At Inly, parents participate in their toddler's education.
- Conferences are held three times per year to discuss your child's progress.
- Toddler parents have daily contact with our Toddler House teachers at drop-off and pick-up.
- Teachers will always arrange a time to talk with you if you have any concerns.
- Parent meetings and educational seminars on Montessori education at each level of child development are an integral part of our school's culture.
- Parents are welcome to attend school-wide Morning Shares and assemblies, as well as special days in the Toddler and Bridging classes.
- Parents are encouraged to come into the Toddler and Bridging classrooms to help with art projects, reading stories and baking.
Toddlers develop focus and fine-motor skills through Montessori work.
